John Wayne Gacy, like most other serial killers, was the son of an alcoholic, abusive father. He would grow up to appear outwardly normal, but kill 33 young boys that he buried beneath his home. He was found guilty on all counts, and after many unsuccessful appeals, he was executed by lethal injection on May 9, 1994.
